Gladiators News · Volleyball State of Mind

The first regular season in the history of North Phoenix Prep Varsity volleyball has concluded, and to say that this team performed well would be an understatement. With veterans such as Kris Perez and Katie Harrington at the helm, the team benefited from the addition of several key freshmen. The Gladiators finished with a 12-5 record overall, which was enough to earn them a 15th seed in the upcoming 1A State Tournament. North Phoenix Prep will begin the tournament playing a familiar opponent, as they take on Anthem Prep. The Eagles defeated the Gladiators 3-0 to open the season, and NPX will no doubt be seeking to avenge the loss.

The state tournament will be beginning at an ideal time for the Gladiators, as they have been playing quite well to end the season, winning 5 of their last 6 before a 2-3 loss to Ft. Thomas in regionals. The Gladiators will begin tournament play on Friday, November 3rd at North High School (1101 E Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014) at 1 PM. North Phoenix Prep has an early release of 12:30 that day, so make sure to fill the gym with maroon and gold!

Go Gladiators!
